Clairbourn School, a Junior PreK through eighth grade independent school nestled at the confluence of Pasadena, San Marino, and San Gabriel, is actively seeking a full‑time 2nd Grade Teacher for the  school year. Clairbourn School is seeking an individual who enjoys working with elementary students and is committed to helping them develop academic skills, confidence, teamwork, and a growth mindset. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic educator who builds strong relationships with students, works well with colleagues, and actively supports the mission and daily life of the school. They are dependable, energetic, flexible, and willing to contribute to the school community.

Contract to begin August 1, 2026. Salary is competitive and commensurate with education, skills, and experience, with a generous benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, and retirement benefits. Salary range is between $70,000 and $95,000, based on our salary scale.

• BA/BS degree
• Teaching credential and/or Master’s degree preferred
• Teaching experience of 3 or more years preferred

• Test for tuberculosis not more than one year prior to or seven days after employment
• Documentation of a Department of Justice criminal record clearance or exemption as required by law

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• High energy level, creativity, and flexibility
• Positive attitude
• Ability to work collaboratively with other faculty to plan and implement curriculum
• Ability to teach all content areas at the assigned grade level: language arts, math, social studies, and science
• Ability to foster critical thinking, problem-solving, independence, and ethics in students
• Experience with integrating technology in the classroom, including interactive whiteboards and iPads
• Ability to successfully develop and maintain positive relationships with students, colleagues, and school families
• Physical ability to perform the duties of the job
• Willingness to support the philosophy of the school
