Job Description & How to Apply Below

The Senior GL Accountant IV is a key individual contributor responsible for executing complex general ledger accounting processes and supporting accurate, GAAP-compliant financial reporting on the expense side of the business. This role partners with the Accounting Manager and cross-functional teams to maintain the integrity of the general ledger, own balance sheet reconciliations, and ensure timely and accurate close deliverables. This individual demonstrates strong technical and analytical capabilities, contributes to process improvements, and supports the monthly close, audit, and ongoing GL operations.

The role is expected to operate independently within defined areas while continuing to build deeper expertise in expense accounting and account reconciliation best practices.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Lead month-end and quarter-end close activities for assigned expense and corporate accounting areas, ensuring the timely, accurate, and complete recording of financial results.
  • Serve as the primary owner of complex balance sheet account reconciliations, ensuring compliance with company policies, robust supporting documentation, and timely resolution of reconciling items.
  • Review, prepare, and approve journal entries related to expense accruals, prepaid assets, reallocations, reserves, and other significant accounting transactions.
  • Oversee the expense accrual process for assigned functions, partnering with business leaders and finance stakeholders to identify, evaluate, and accurately record period-end obligations.
  • Perform detailed variance and flux analyses, identifying key business drivers, emerging trends, and accounting impacts while providing actionable insights to Accounting leadership and FP&A partners.
  • Analyze complex expense transactions and accounting matters to ensure proper recognition, classification, and compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal accounting policies.
  • Apply and interpret accounting guidance, including ASC 420, ASC 450, and other relevant standards, to complex business transactions and accounting events, exercising independent judgment and recommending appropriate accounting treatment.
  • Partner with Accounting Management to research technical accounting matters, prepare accounting position documentation, and support the implementation of new accounting guidance and policies.
  • Act as a key point of contact for internal and external audit activities, coordinating audit requests, preparing supporting schedules, and addressing auditor inquiries related to assigned accounting areas.
  • Proactively identify accounting risks, control gaps, and process inefficiencies, recommending and implementing sustainable solutions to strengthen controls and improve operational effectiveness.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives focused on standardization, automation, scalability, and enhanced financial reporting quality across the accounting function.
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously enhance accounting procedures, policies, and process documentation to support operational excellence and knowledge transfer.
  • Support the design, execution, and monitoring of internal controls, ensuring compliance with GAAP, SOX requirements, and company policies.
  • Build strong cross-functional partnerships with Finance, FP&A, Operations, Procurement, HR, and other business stakeholders to provide accounting guidance and support strategic business initiatives.
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and subject matter expertise to less experienced accounting team members, supporting their development and promoting consistency in accounting practices.
