We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Cost Accountant & Financial Analyst to oversee cost accounting, inventory valuation, and month-end close processes at our Fremont, CA facility. In this role, you will partner closely with operations and finance leadership to refine standard costing, ensure compliance, and deliver actionable financial insights that drive organizational scaling.
Key Responsibilities Costing & Inventory Management:- Develop, refine, and maintain standard cost systems, including material, labor, and overhead rate absorption.
- Oversee inventory valuation, variance analysis, and cost accounting operations, ensuring accurate tracking of revenue-related inventory activity.
- Lead month-end close workflows, including complex journal entries, general ledger reviews, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Prepare and deliver financial reports to support executive decision-making, FP&A efforts, and external reporting requirements.
- Establish, strengthen, and monitor internal accounting controls to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and GAAP compliance across all processes.
- Direct audit readiness by organizing documentation, responding to external auditor inquiries, and supporting annual financial statement audits.
- Drive process improvements, ERP optimization, and automation initiatives that help scale financial operations efficiently.
- Deep understanding of general ledger architecture, complex reconciliations, and financial reporting standards.
- Proven track record leading month-end close processes within a fast-paced environment.
- Strong subject-matter expertise in inventory accounting, standard costing, and operational finance.
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to bridge the gap between finance and manufacturing operations.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree or CPA preferred). - 5+ years of relevant experience (or 3+ years with a Master’s degree) in manufacturing, technology, or hardware industries.
- Public accounting firm experience or prior roles in FP&A and cost accounting strongly preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in ERP systems and Excel (financial modeling, complex formulas, pivot tables).
- Familiarity or experience with automation, AI tools, data pipelines, or advanced reporting software is a strong plus.
