Senior Revenue Accounting Manager
Location:
San Jose, CA. This role is on-site five days per week.
Job Description:This strategic and hands-on role will oversee revenue recognition, reporting, close activities, internal controls, and process improvement across a complex, high-volume operating environment. The ideal candidate brings deep technical revenue accounting expertise, strong leadership skills, and the ability to partner effectively with Sales, Operations, Legal, Finance, and executive stakeholders.
Responsibilities:- Lead revenue accounting and reporting activities, ensuring compliance with applicable revenue recognition guidance
- Evaluate complex customer arrangements, including multi-element contracts, channel sales, rebates, incentives, and other forms of variable consideration
- Oversee revenue-related month-end and quarter-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, analytics, and reporting
- Partner with FP&A, Sales Operations, Legal, and other stakeholders to support forecasting, contract evaluation, and business decision-making
- Analyze revenue trends, margin impacts, and key business drivers, providing clear insights to senior leadership
- Serve as the primary contact for auditors on revenue matters and support external reporting requirements
Maintain effective internal controls across revenue and order-to-cash processes - Drive automation, systems enhancements, data integrity, and scalable process improvements across the revenue function
- Lead, mentor, and develop accounting team members while promoting accountability and continuous improvement
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including significant revenue accounting responsibility
- Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP and revenue recognition guidance for complex customer arrangements
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing accounting professionals or revenue-related teams
- Experience supporting high-volume transactions within a technology, hardware, manufacturing, or similarly complex operating environment
