OpportunityFederal Work Study student workers assist various departments per the approved positions below.
- Front Desk Assistant
- Activity Assistant
- Greets students and assists in answering general questions.
- Assists students with part-time jobs, parking, and insurance information.
- Answers general questions/referrals.
- Provides customer service for students (e.g., greeting, answering telephones and taking messages from students).
- Provides clerical support of student records/activities (e.g., filing, sorting, light typing, telephone answering, packet assembly, etc.).
- Orients new students who have enrolled, providing materials/services offered by the institution (e.g., housing, part-time jobs, etc.).
- Contacts students needed by various offices.
- Mailing student information.
- Prepares student contact slips.
- Assists students at counter and directs students to appropriate departments.
- Assists students with transcripts, schedule and course changes, and demographic changes.
- Assists students in the appeals process, Graduation Petition process, registration process, add/drops, and withdrawals.
- Assists with student-related campus events and organizations, job fairs, Senior Project and other special projects related specifically to students.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Below are the minimum requirements of the education, experience, knowledge, and skills required to competently perform in this position. - Must be an enrolled student.
- Need to have flexibility to work Monday - Thursday between 4 PM - 9 PM local time.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Current Student in good standing and possess a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
- Must be enrolled in a minimum of six credits per semester.
- Computer skills and customer service attitude is critical.
