Assistant Planner

Long-Term Contract Positions: 1 The Assistant Planner supports planning and development activities by assisting with research, data analysis, project coordination, and documentation. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Planning Support
- Assist in preparing planning reports, studies, and documentation
- Support land use, zoning, and development review processes
- Conduct research on planning policies, regulations, and projects
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to planning projects
- Maintain databases, spreadsheets, and tracking systems
- Prepare summaries, charts, and reports
Project Coordination
- Assist in coordinating planning projects and timelines
- Work with internal teams, consultants, and stakeholders
- Track project progress and ensure deadlines are met
Public & Stakeholder Support
- Assist in responding to public inquiries and requests
- Support community outreach and engagement efforts
- Help prepare materials for meetings and presentations
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate project records and documentation
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and procedures
- Support preparation of permits and application materials
Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Geography, Public Administration, or related field 1–3 years of planning or administrative experience Basic understanding of zoning, land use, or planning principles Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Strong analytical and organizational skills
Preferred QualificationsExperience with GIS tools (ArcGIS or similar) Experience working in municipal or government environments Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
