Job Description

As a key member of the Platforms HDD Business Operations team, the Business Analyst’s primary focus is to work within Marketing to measure and analyze the Hard Disk Drive Platforms market. The market spans multiple segments and geographies that are dynamic. This role maintains key data points used to support company strategy and informs critical business decisions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Collect, organize, and analyze data inputs from the Sales team to assess and quantify HDD market opportunities.
  • Track and report bookings, billings, backlog, and SFDC forecasts; support the preparation and distribution of weekly revenue reports.
  • Partner with Sales Operations to design and maintain reporting based on shipment data.
  • Conduct and consolidate market research using data from Sales Operations and other internal sources.
  • Review contract pricing and support rebate analysis during monthly and quarterly close processes.
  • Analyze historical pricing and shipment data to ensure data accuracy and improve forecast quality in partnership with Business Marketing Managers.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver timely data insights and analytical support for business decisions.
  • Support the development and enhancement of analytical tools to improve data consolidation, reporting efficiency, and overall analytics capabilities.
Qualifications

REQUIRED

  • BA/BS (MBA preferred) in Business, Finance, Engineering, Economics, or related field.
  • Experience in the semiconductor or data storage sector, or knowledge of product management within this space.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong customer focus.
  • Critical thinker – ability to analyze large datasets and identify key insights.
  • Highly motivated, passionate about work, and dedicated to company success.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships internally and externally.
  • Strong Excel skills for data collection, management, and complex modeling; SQL, OBIEE, Tableau a plus.

Compensation & Benefits Details
  • Pay may vary based on education, qualifications, experience, performance, and location. The salary range is indicative and may be revised.
  • If non‑exempt, eligible for overtime pay per policy and applicable laws; shift differential may apply.
  • Eligible for bonuses under Western Digital’s Short Term Incentive Plan (STI Plan) or Sales Incentive Plan (SIP). Long‑Term Incentive (LTI) program participation is role‑dependent.
