A global technology company is seeking a Business Planning Specialist to join its Sales Operations team in San Jose, California. This role is ideal for an analytical professional who enjoys turning business data into actionable insights while supporting sales strategy, forecasting, budgeting, and executive decision-making. You'll work closely with teams across both the U.S. and Japan in a collaborative, international business environment.
Japanese language skills are highly preferred; however, we also welcome applications from candidates who are fluent in English and have strong business planning or sales operations experience.
What You’ll Do- Support sales planning, forecasting, budgeting, and business planning activities
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual sales performance reports
- Consolidate forecasts, budgets, and business results for management and headquarters
- Develop dashboards, presentations, and executive reports
- Monitor sales performance and identify business improvement opportunities
- Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and customer research
- Support strategic planning and business development initiatives
- Analyze business processes and recommend operational improvements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on strategic projects
- Maintain accurate business data, reports, and sales operations records
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Marketing, or a related field
- 3–5 years of experience in one or more of the following:
- Business Planning
- Business Analysis
- FP&A
- Commercial Planning
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, Power Query, VBA)
- Experience with Power BI, dashboards, and data visualization
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Self-motivated with excellent collaboration skills
- Japanese-English bilingual (strongly preferred but not required)
- Experience supporting manufacturing, semiconductor, electronics, or industrial businesses
- Experience with ERP systems and business reporting tools
- Experience working with global or cross-cultural teams
- Play a key role in business strategy and executive decision-making
- Partner with both U.S. and Japan-based teams
