We are seeking an experienced, successful, and engaged Compliance Reporting Analyst to join our team. This position is expected to work out ofour office at 2540 N First Street in San Jose and limited job-related travel may be required.
Position SummaryGreen Waste is seeking a Contract & Compliance Reporting Analyst to support contractual, regulatory, operational, and financial reporting requirements across the organization. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timely submission of reports required by municipal contracts, regulatory agencies, and internal stakeholders. The position collects, validates, reconciles, and analyzes data from multiple sources, investigates reporting discrepancies, and supports management reporting and financial analysis activities as needed.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities- Maintain and update databases and records related to customers, materials, services, and other information necessary to support contractual and regulatory reporting.
- Collect, validate, reconcile, and analyze operational and financial data from multiple internal and external sources.
- Prepare and submit required material handling, processing, diversion, operational, and other reports to regulatory agencies and contracted city or county representatives.
- Review reporting data for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and compliance with applicable reporting requirements.
- Reconcile data between internal systems, operational records, customer information, and external databases to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Investigate reporting variances and work with internal departments to obtain clarification or make necessary corrections.
- Ensure contractual reporting requirements and deadlines are met accurately and timely.
- Communicate and coordinate with representatives of contracted cities, counties, consultants, and regulatory agencies regarding reporting questions, data requests, and ad hoc reviews.
- Assist internal departments with the implementation of reporting processes, procedures, and other contractual or regulatory requirements.
- Maintain organized records and supporting documentation for reporting and compliance purposes.
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, data accuracy, and efficiency.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately review, analyze, and reconcile large and complex data sets from multiple sources, identifying discrepancies and variances and determining appropriate follow-up or corrective action.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to investigate data and reporting issues, identify the cause of discrepancies, and work with others to develop practical solutions.
- Ability to understand, interpret, and follow contractual, regulatory, and internal reporting requirements and adapt to changes in reporting, operational, and compliance requirements.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and reporting deadlines simultaneously.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly with internal departments, management, customers, municipalities, consultants, and regulatory representatives.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a team environment, research issues, and identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, accuracy, and efficiency.
- Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, lookups, data validation, and reconciliation of large datasets. Experience with Power BI, SQL, ERP systems, route management systems, or other operational reporting platforms preferred.
