High‑End Residential Construction Estimator

The Role & Our Company

Client is a high‑end residential general contractor in Saratoga, CA, with over 145 years of combined experience. We believe the best results come from thoughtful planning, clear communication, and a deep respect for the building process.

We are seeking a Residential Construction Estimator who sees a complex blueprint as a puzzle to be solved. You will be the central hub of our projects, working with Project Managers and Architects to turn a client's vision into a profitable, well‑planned reality. This is a foundational role with a clear path to leadership as we grow.

Essential Functions
  • Create detailed project estimates, scopes of work, and quantity takeoffs using Bluebeam and Square Takeoff.
  • Send RFQs, onboard trade partners, and rigorously review subcontractor bids for accuracy.
  • Process change orders and collaborate with Project Managers to minimize budget slippage.
  • Lead on‑site job walks to verify conditions.

    Note:

    This requires the physical ability to crawl under houses and into attics.
  • Drive gross profit through strategic, accurate quotations.
  • Other duties as needed to support company growth and project success.
Education, Experience, And Skills Required
  • Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in residential construction estimation.
  • Proficiency with estimating software, specifically Bluebeam and Square Takeoff, Co‑construct.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Architecture as a plus.
  • Physical ability to conduct thorough site visits.
  • Extremely detail‑oriented and a natural problem‑solver.
  • An excellent communicator who builds trust with trades and architects.
  • Kind, professional, and emotionally intelligent; a collaborative team player.
