Vale Group, a nationwide specialized recruitment firm, has partnered with a company based in San Jose, CA, who is actively searching for an experienced Construction Project Manager to work hybrid for an opportunity paying up to $170,000 annually, based on experience - plus an eligible incentive plan. This role leads HVAC, plumbing, architectural sheet metal, and process piping construction efforts across commercial and industrial process settings throughout the local market.
The selected professional will guide projects from preconstruction through closeout, partnering with field crews, subcontractors, and clients to deliver safe, high-quality results on schedule and within budget. Juggling several jobs at once, this individual will also drive financial performance, aid forecasting, and strengthen a collaborative, safety-minded culture while operating across Design Build, Plan and Specification, Design Assist, and IPD delivery approaches.
Requirements of the Construction Project Manager:
- Four to five years minimum serving as a commercial and/or industrial construction project engineer
- Technical command of HVAC sheet metal, hydronic piping, refrigerant piping, and related equipment
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management, or comparable hands-on experience
- Demonstrated leadership ability with strong client-facing and relationship skills
- Capacity to manage several projects at once across remote field offices
- Sharp communication, organizational, and collaboration strengths
- Background on large infrastructure projects a definite plus
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; project or accounting software a plus
Responsibilities of the Construction Project Manager:
- Steer multiple commercial and/or industrial process projects from kickoff through closeout, safeguarding safety, quality, schedule, and cost control
- Act as the lead client contact, nurturing strong relationships through proactive communication and effective problem-solving
- Convert project scope, schedules, and technical specs into clear marching orders for field leadership and subcontractors
- Build and oversee project financials, including scopes of work, schedules of values, labor budgets, productivity KPIs, and cost tracking
- Coordinate procurement and equipment planning so materials, labor, and timelines stay aligned
- Contribute to monthly financial forecasting and project reviews, flagging risks and opportunities early
- Mentor project engineers and supporting staff while reinforcing accountability and team growth
- Identify and curb project risks, resolving technical, schedule, or cost hurdles as they surface
- Maintain accurate documentation in line with company standards, contract terms, and regulatory obligations
