This position is based out of our San Jose, CA office.
About the PositionAs a Project Manager, responsibilities include planning, directing, and coordinating electrical construction operations, purchases, financial reporting and project controls activities for a portfolio of concurrent electrical projects. Heavily involved in all aspects of project execution from participation in proposals and procurement, contract negotiations, and managing all aspects of project operations and financial performance. Ensure work is performed within a pre-scheduled budget and manage project performance to meet or exceed prescribed goals.
Collaborate with other Project Managers and Supervisory staff and complete projects within industry margin standards.

- Skilled in electrical construction, project budgets, project monthly cost reporting, preparation and negotiation of change orders, project documentation, planning and execution, monitoring of construction activities including but not limited to, Sub-tier contractor management, vendors, material procurement, scheduling and tracking.
- Directs all phases and activities of electrical project to achieve high quality and productivity in the work performed. This includes project plans, quotations, bidding, budgeting, monitoring projections, and equipment, scheduling testing procedures, and establishing goals and standards of performance. Ensures all plans and specifications clearly and accurately identify project scope and milestones and are shared professionally with all appropriate parties.
- Prepares and manages timely and accurate project documents and status reports, estimates, projections, material release schedules, client information, project schedules, purchase orders, monthly invoices, payments, closeout documents, warranties, drawings, maintenance manuals, final billings, change orders, cost codes and other documentation to support construction project work. Maintains and manages submittal logs. Provides staffing and account management support, customer service, and new business development as needed.
- Documents methods of procedure (MOPs), and ensures all field personnel have the current materials, tools, plans, schedules, and directions needed for their work, and that all changes in budget and scope of work are communicated appropriately, and/or all design staff have what they need for their work including data, submittals, etc. Establishes clearly defined duties and objectives to achieve required test results.
- Secures subcontractors utilizing standard subcontract agreements binding them to terms like Company contract requirements, thereby assigning the appropriate risk. Obtains permits as needed. Procures materials in a proactive and coordinated manner and negotiates with vendors and distributors on availability and pricing of materials, completion of quotes, and other necessary procedure details. Ensures all plans and documents are maintained in the appropriate systems.
- Conducts job start-up meetings with field operations leaders and others to transfer documentation, schedules, and other information. Regularly attends project update meetings to stay current on job scope, schedules, administrative needs, and market conditions. Provides day-to-day direction to project foreman or superintendent, and/or design staff as needed to monitor productivity goals and build teamwork.
- Partners with project foreman and all project team members to conduct job site inspections and job safety audits and assure accurate scope, placement, and conformance with the contract documents and the Company's project quality assurance and safety standards. Stays informed of new electrical and safety codes, materials, technologies, techniques, and practices. Ensures all safety programs and OSHA requirements are followed.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in electrical, project management, construction management, or a related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of project management experience. Solid project management training and skills. Thorough understanding of the project life cycle.
- Minimum of 2 years of project management work experience in construction (electrical distribution/substation, renewable energy, or related disciplines) may be required
- Experience and proficiency using construction software tools. Trained and proficient in estimating techniques, negotiating, budgeting, costing, contracting, scheduling, pricing, and common code requirements.
- Knowledge of and proficiency with project management tools and techniques, construction methods and materials, estimating, costing, power, lighting, systems design, and general industry safety standards, procedures, and OSHA regulations. Skills to read, interpret, and understand…
