SENIOR ELECTRICAL ESTIMATOR
This position can be based out of any of our San Jose, CA offices or fully remote.
About the PositionAs an Electrical Estimator, you will assist the pre‑construction and project‑management teams with services that include preparation of estimates, proposal and bid reviews, document reviews, cost‑value analysis, and historical evaluations. You will collaborate with job‑specific teams, participate in business development and client management, and provide training and mentoring to junior estimators.

- Plans and coordinates the activities of each assigned project for quality and accuracy of work, performing estimates, scheduling tasks, and achieving goals and standards.
- Leads the creation of all bids, documents, and reports accurately, completely, and professionally.
- Secures and reviews quotes from subcontractors, plans project take‑offs to optimize efficiency of labor, and attends estimate review meetings.
- Assists in the interview procurement process and the proposal writing for RFPs.
- Works with the project manager and chief estimator to determine general expenses, labor rates, and other costs; collaborates with design and purchasing departments to ensure constructible, cost‑effective plans.
- Utilizes estimating software to ensure all estimates and RFPs meet customer and company conditions for satisfaction; stays informed of new electrical codes, technologies, and practices.
- Surveys job sites as needed and coordinates all estimates to meet project deadlines.
- Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with clients, subcontractors, and co‑workers and mentors other estimators and staff on large projects.
- Associate degree or equivalent work experience in construction management or a related field.
- Minimum 5–8 years of electrical construction estimating experience, including knowledge of common code requirements and design/build estimating.
- Proficiency with Accubid or similar estimating software and field installation experience.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical contracts, plans, drawings, blueprints, and specifications; extensive knowledge of electrical codes.
- Excellent conceptual estimating, critical thinking, analytical, and mathematical skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and effective documentation and report preparation.
- Strong leadership, independent problem‑solving, detail orientation, time management, and customer service skills; coaching, training, and mentoring experience.
- In‑depth project management skills and thorough understanding of the project life cycle.
- Occasional travel may be required.
