Position: Mechanical Project Manager (HVAC)

Location: San Jose, CA

Pay Range: $125,000-$185,000

Tiello is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee large-scale mechanical and HVAC construction projects in the Bay Area. This role requires a detail-oriented leader who can manage projects from estimating and design through construction and closeout, while maintaining strong relationships with clients, field teams, and stakeholders.

The ideal candidate has at least 5+ years of experience managing design-build or complex mechanical construction projects
, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is confident balancing budgets, schedules, and people.

• Oversee projects through estimating, design, construction, and closeout phases
• Review contracts and provide feedback on scope, value, and terms
• Collaborate with superintendents and estimators to establish labor phasing and tracking
• Develop, publish, and update project schedules weekly
• Lead weekly construction team meetings and provide “4-week look ahead” schedules
• Manage progress billing, change orders, subcontractors, and equipment procurement
• Track labor productivity and project costs, reporting monthly updates to operations leadership
• Price and draft change orders and proposals
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and company procedures
• Manage punch lists, start-up, commissioning, and closeout documentation
• Simultaneously manage multiple projects in the $5M-$10M range or a single large-scale project ($8M-$10M+)

• 5+ years of project management experience in mechanical construction or HVAC projects
• Strong understanding of design-build and life sciences projects
• Proficiency in MS Office; experience with construction software (Procore, Bluebeam, ACC, Asana, etc.) preferred
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with proven ability to resolve conflicts
• Critical thinker with strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
