Construction Project Coordinator – San Jose, CA

Mandatory Mandates

Compensation & Schedule

Salary: $85,000 per year.

Shift: 5‑day work week Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Actual hours may vary slightly by department depending on operational needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Construction Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and tracking new store construction and renovation projects.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and recommend corrective actions to keep projects on schedule.
  • Coordinate communication with internal teams, contractors, consultants, landlords, and local authorities.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, including schedules, contracts, and progress reports.
  • Participate in vendor selection and negotiation processes.
  • Support procurement by reviewing materials, equipment, and service proposals.
  • Track project budgets, invoices, and payment schedules in collaboration with finance.
  • Assist with obtaining permits, licenses, and approvals to ensure compliance.
  • Contribute to developing and maintaining departmental systems, workflows, and documentation standards.
  • Oversee project administration, exercise sound management judgment, and communicate with stakeholders.
  • Travel to project sites as needed to support progress monitoring and issue resolution.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the project manager.
Qualifications
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree or diploma in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (equivalent experience considered).
  • Have 5+ years of relevant construction or project coordination experience, preferably in retail or commercial projects.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Proficient in CAD software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Possess knowledge of project management principles including scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and documentation.
  • Familiar with local building codes, permit processes, and construction regulations.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems is an asset.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
    Mandarin or Cantonese language skills are an asset.
  • Hold a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel as required.
