Position Overview
Veracity Electric is seeking a highly experienced, results-driven Electrical Project Manager with a strong background in commercial electrical construction, job costing, budgeting, and project financial management
.
This position will take full ownership of commercial electrical projects from pre-construction and turnover through execution, financial management, and final closeout. The Project Manager is accountable for ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and at or above targeted profitability
.
The ideal candidate understands both the field and financial sides of electrical construction and can confidently manage project budgets, labor productivity, cost projections, change orders, procurement, schedules, and customer relationships. We are looking for a proactive leader who identifies risks early, develops solutions, and takes ownership of project results.
As an Electrical Project Manager, you will:
- Manage commercial electrical projects from award and pre-construction through final closeout
. - Take ownership of project budgets, job costing, cost-to-complete projections, forecasts, and overall financial performance
. - Review project estimates and establish accurate project budgets and cost codes.
- Monitor actual costs versus budget and identify potential cost overruns before they impact project profitability.
- Prepare and maintain WIP reporting, financial forecasts, committed costs, and projected final costs
. - Monitor labor hours, labor productivity, manpower utilization, and earned-versus-spent performance
. - Develop and manage project schedules, manpower forecasts, look-ahead schedules, and recovery plans.
- Partner closely with superintendents and foremen to ensure field production aligns with the project budget and schedule.
- Review project drawings, specifications, estimates, scope documents, and contract requirements.
- Identify scope gaps, cost exposure, schedule risks, and opportunities to improve project performance.
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, pricing, documentation, and change-order tracking
. - Ensure additional work is properly documented, priced, approved, and captured financially.
- Manage procurement, material buyouts, equipment needs, subcontractors, and material delivery schedules.
- Track long-lead materials and proactively resolve procurement issues that could impact the project schedule.
- Conduct regular project financial reviews and communicate risks, opportunities, and corrective actions to leadership.
- Coordinate with general contractors, owners, vendors, subcontractors, and internal project teams.
- Maintain accurate and organized project documentation throughout the life of the project.
- Lead project meetings and provide clear communication regarding schedule, manpower, financial performance, and project risks.
- Support and enforce project safety plans, quality standards, and company policies.
- Manage project closeout, punch lists, as-built documentation, warranties, and final financial reconciliation.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, general contractors, vendors, and project stakeholders.
- Mentor and support the development of field leaders and project team members.
- Demonstrate strong ownership, accountability, urgency, and follow-through in all aspects of project execution.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in commercial electrical construction
, with strong knowledge of electrical systems, installation methods, and construction processes. - 3+ years of successful electrical project management experience with responsibility for project financial performance.
- Proven experience managing commercial electrical projects from startup through closeout
. - Strong experience with job costing, project budgets, forecasting, cost-to-complete analysis, and WIP reporting
. - Demonstrated ability to manage labor budgets, productivity, manpower planning, and project profitability
