Social Media Manager

The Social Media Manager will lead the campaign’s day-to-day social media presence, create and manage digital content, and help shape Mayor Mahan’s online voice across platforms.

• Plan, create, and publish content across the campaign’s social media channels, including rapid‑response and evergreen posts.
• Capture, coordinate, and quickly turn around photo/video content at campaign events, press moments, and field stops.
• Draft and edit platform‑specific copy, graphics briefs, captions, scripts, and posting calendars.
• Travel with Mayor Mahan as needed to support real‑time content creation and collaborate with communications, policy, political, field, and fundraising teams to execute the overarching campaign plan.

• At least one cycle in a digital, social media, or communications role on a federal, statewide, or major local campaign.
• Knowledge of California and national politics, with strong instincts for message discipline and rapid response.
• Exceptional writing, video/photo editing, visual judgment, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with major social platforms and familiarity with basic design/video editing tools; willingness to create content quickly and often.
• Willingness to commit fully to the demands of a high‑intensity statewide race, working nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Candidates with proficiency in Spanish and experience growing political or advocacy social accounts are preferred.

$8,000-$11,000/month.
