Overview

Our Company
Changing the world through digital experiences is what Adobe's all about. We give everyone—from emerging artists to global brands—everything they need to design and deliver exceptional digital experiences. We are passionate about empowering people to create beautiful and powerful images, videos, and apps, and transform how companies interact with customers across every screen. We are on a mission to hire the very best and are committed to creating exceptional employee experiences where everyone is respected and has access to equal opportunity.

We believe the next big idea could be yours.

Adobe's EPG (Emerging Product Groups), also known as the Nextcam team, is seeking Computer Scientists with graduate training or equivalent experience in computer vision, modern AI, or computational photography, to join our team in San Jose, California. This is a relatively new team, led by VP and Fellow Marc Levoy, exploring next-generation product opportunities centered around the concept of a camera app empowered by AI, computer vision, and computational photography.

The team develops technologies and features for Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, and other imaging products, with broad impact. The team recently launched an AI-based feature for removing window reflections from photographs. Earlier in 2024 we launched an AI model that automatically adjusts the tone and color of photographs, as described in our blog. For SLR/MIR camera users, this may be the first time they have seen their photographs rendered in high dynamic range.

If you are passionate about photography and AI, this is your opportunity to work with a great team who will be changing the camera industry. Publication is allowed and encouraged, especially when validated by product impact.

What you'll do
  • Our team works like a startup inside Adobe, offering a unique "best of both worlds" opportunity. If you value flexibility and personal impact of joining an exciting startup while enjoying the resources and global launch stage of an industry leader, this is where you belong.

  • You'll have strong input on the direction of new products and technology, while working directly with experienced scientists and engineers, designers, and product managers who lead the team.

  • You'll research and develop new computational photography algorithms and deploy them in Lightroom, Photoshop, Premiere, and other Adobe flagship products.

  • You'll also develop, implement, test, deploy, and support mobile photography apps on iOS and Android.

What you need to succeed
  • B.S., M.S., or PhD degree in Computer Science or a related field.

  • Experience with computer vision, computational photography, and/or modern AI applied to these fields.

  • An interest in applying your skills to problems in photography and videography defined broadly.

  • Strong programming skills (such as C/C++ and Python).

  • Experience with AI tools (e.g., PyTorch, CoreML, tf.lite, ONNX).

  • A plus would be knowledge of the iOS or Android platforms, mobile app development environments, and camera APIs.

  • A plus would be experience in programming on GPUs or other hardware accelerators.

  • A passion for quality and engineering excellence.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
