Digital Arts Coach
The East Side Union High School District (ESUHSD) seeks a skilled and passionate Digital Arts Coach to enhance student learning by bringing professional expertise, specialized digital media techniques, and industry-standard technology practices into the high school Visual Arts program. This position complements and extends the classroom teacher's instruction by engaging students in advanced digital design, imaging, and creative production using Adobe Creative Suite and other professional-grade software platforms.
Through demonstrations, workshops, and project-based learning, the Digital Arts Coach introduces students to the tools, processes, and professional expectations of today's creative industries, helping them build both artistic and career-ready skills in digital media, graphic design, and visual communication.
Qualifications/
Certifications:
Professional digital artist, designer, or educator with demonstrated expertise in digital media and creative software. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects) and familiarity with additional platforms such as Procreate, Blender, or Canva. Understanding of industry-standard practices in digital design, visual storytelling, and multimedia production. Ability to teach career-readiness skills, including portfolio development, digital branding, and project presentation.
Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills. Experience teaching, mentoring, or coaching youth preferred.

Key Tasks/Duties:
Coach students in digital arts techniques including graphic design, photo editing, compositing, typography, layout design, digital painting, and motion graphics. Demonstrate advanced use of Adobe Creative Suite applications such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, and After Effects, as well as other relevant platforms (e.g., Procreate, Blender, or Canva). Collaborate with Visual Arts teachers to develop workshops that enhance classroom instruction and integrate digital tools into the existing curriculum.
Teach industry standards in file management, workflow efficiency, resolution and color settings, and professional printing/publishing formats. Mentor students on career pathways in design, digital illustration, animation, media production, and related creative industries. Model best practices in digital professionalism, copyright compliance, and ethical image use.
