Position DutiesThe Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services Department is currently seeking to fill one (1) full-time Amusement Park Supervisor vacancy in the Parks Division.
Salary range for this classification is $99,481.20 – $
This salary range includes an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable compensation. Actual salary shall be determined by the final candidates’ qualifications and experience.
Under the direction of the Happy Hollow Park & Zoo (HHPZ) Parks, Recreation, and Facilities Supervisor, the Amusement Park Supervisor performs work of moderate difficulty, with responsibility for the operations of an amusement park operated year-round and utilized by San José and Bay Area Residents. This is a highly visible City-wide facility and program with a focus on overseeing the amusement park operations at Happy Hollow Park & Zoo, including oversight of ride operations and safety;
oversight of Guest Services including membership service, customer service, ride maintenance, volunteers, group sales, and special events. This position works 1 weekend day and some holidays.
Typical duties of the Amusement Park Supervisor include but are not limited to:
- Directs, reviews, and approves the development, operation, revenue collection and expenditures for membership, admissions, group sales, parking, customer service, ride operations, office, and special activities.
- Initiates, establishes and implements policies and procedures as they relate to amusement park operations.
- Prepares reports, evaluations, memorandums, and correspondence as required
- Initiates, maintains, and develops effective working relationships with ground maintenance, park rangers, zoo staff, nonprofit support organizations, volunteers, and Community/School groups to foster good relations and encourage co-sponsorship activities and events.
- Directs, monitors, and approves expenditures as allocated in the budget.
