The Community & Family Center Specialist assists in planning, organizing, and supporting the delivery of a variety of community center programs and activities for community members of all ages. This position serves as a welcoming, professional presence at the center, providing on-site supervision and high-quality customer service to all visitors and program participants. This role works closely with the Program Manager and program team to ensure that every community member who walks through the door feels valued, supported, and connected to the resources and services available to them.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Community and Family Engagement & Outreach
  • Promote center programs and services to community members in person and through posted materials, flyers, and informational displays.
  • Build positive, ongoing relationships with community members, families, and regular center visitors to foster a sense of belonging and connection.
  • Provide support to clients in completing applications and paperwork for benefits, financial assistance, housing, food, employment, childcare, youth programming and mental health services within CCSCC.
  • Serve as client and their family advocate within CCSCC and neighboring community services.
  • Assist with outreach efforts to attract new participants and increase engagement across diverse community groups.
  • Represent CCSCC and the community center in a professional, mission-aligned manner during all community interactions.
  • Gather feedback from community members on programs, services, and the overall center experience to inform continuous improvement.
  • Encourage and support consistent client participation in services, appointments, and program activities.
  • Re-engage clients who have become disengaged.
On-Site Coverage & Facility Monitoring
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for community members visiting the center, providing a warm, professional, and welcoming experience to all guests.
  • Provide on-site coverage during programs, drop-in hours, and community events to ensure a safe, orderly, and inclusive environment.
  • Manage visitor sign-in procedures, registration processes, and program enrollment at the front desk or point of entry.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to community member inquiries, concerns, and requests, escalating to the Program Manager or Director as needed.
  • Assist in resolving minor conflicts or behavioral concerns among participants in a calm, de-escalating, and trauma-informed manner.
  • Conduct regular walkthroughs of all indoor program areas, common spaces, restrooms, and building entry points to ensure cleanliness, safety, and proper functioning.
  • Support compliance with health, safety, fire, and accessibility regulations within the facility.
  • Ensure adequate supplies are stocked in program areas and common spaces; assist with inventory tracking and ordering requests.
Program Planning & Support
  • Assist the Program Manager in planning, organizing, and coordinating a variety of community center programs, events, workshops, and activities for community members of all ages.
  • Support the setup, execution, and breakdown of program activities, including arranging spaces, preparing materials, and ensuring equipment is ready and operational.
  • Help develop program schedules, flyers, sign-up sheets, and participant communications as directed.
  • Assist in coordinating volunteers, vendors, community partners, and guest presenters participating in center programs and events.
  • Monitor program participation, attendance,
  • and collect program outcome data, feedback, and other information needed for program evaluation and reporting.
  • Suggest new programming ideas based on community interests, feedback, and observed needs.
  • Support culturally responsive programming that reflects the diversity of the community members served.
Administrative Support
  • Enter data and activity logs into program tracking systems as directed by the Program Manager
  • Assist with preparing program-related reports, supply lists, and other administrative tasks as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all client and community member information in accordance with agency policies and applicable laws.
  • Answer phones and respond to emails and general inquiries and manage front desk operations.
QUALIFICATIONS Education
