Project Manager – Architecture

AECOM is seeking a Project Manager with a strong architectural background and preferably an active architectural license to join our growing team in one of the offices:
San Francisco, Oakland, Los Angeles, Sacramento or San Jose, CA.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage architectural projects through all phases of design and construction.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams to ensure design quality, technical accuracy, and timely delivery.
  • Serve as primary client contact throughout project development.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of design documentation and construction drawings.
  • Monitor project schedules, budgets, and deliverables in alignment with client expectations.
  • Support internal resourcing, consultant coordination, and team performance.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and AECOM standards.
  • May manage various sized groups of architects, designers and/or specialists.
  • May work on modest size projects and/or assist Project Architectural or Engineering Managers with higher grades.
  • Provide architectural guidance, calculations, analysis, studies and recommendations for a specialized segment of the Architectural Discipline within the schedules and budget of an assigned project.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program with 6 years of professional experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
  • Licensed Architect in California.
  • Experience in architectural project management, including experience in the California market.
  • Proven experience managing projects of varying scales and complexities.
  • Proficiency in design and project management software, such as Revit, AutoCAD, and MS Project.
  • LEED Accreditation or experience with sustainable design practices.
  • Strong understanding of California building codes, zoning regulations, and permitting processes.
  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Experience with public and private sector projects, including mixed‑use, commercial, and institutional developments.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment.
