Project Manager – Architecture
AECOM is seeking a Project Manager with a strong architectural background and preferably an active architectural license to join our growing team in one of the offices:
San Francisco, Oakland, Los Angeles, Sacramento or San Jose, CA.
- Lead and manage architectural projects through all phases of design and construction.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams to ensure design quality, technical accuracy, and timely delivery.
- Serve as primary client contact throughout project development.
- Oversee the preparation and review of design documentation and construction drawings.
- Monitor project schedules, budgets, and deliverables in alignment with client expectations.
- Support internal resourcing, consultant coordination, and team performance.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and AECOM standards.
- May manage various sized groups of architects, designers and/or specialists.
- May work on modest size projects and/or assist Project Architectural or Engineering Managers with higher grades.
- Provide architectural guidance, calculations, analysis, studies and recommendations for a specialized segment of the Architectural Discipline within the schedules and budget of an assigned project.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program with 6 years of professional experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
- Licensed Architect in California.
- Experience in architectural project management, including experience in the California market.
- Proven experience managing projects of varying scales and complexities.
- Proficiency in design and project management software, such as Revit, AutoCAD, and MS Project.
- LEED Accreditation or experience with sustainable design practices.
- Strong understanding of California building codes, zoning regulations, and permitting processes.
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Experience with public and private sector projects, including mixed‑use, commercial, and institutional developments.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment.
