About the Position

The Designer Drafter is responsible for performing architectural assignments with minimal supervision. The Designer Drafter develops and incorporates design intent into a quality set of construction documents. The Designer Drafter also assists Job Captain with completion of high‑quality drawings and presentation materials from schematic design through construction administration.

Job Responsibilities
  • Prepare preliminary design based on requirements or program.
  • Review design with Job Captain, Project Manager, and if directed, with client for approval.
  • Prepare construction documents / details for submittal.
  • Apply codes.
  • Submit project to the city and respond to the city comments with oversight.
  • Approve submittals during construction administration phase with oversight.
  • Perform day‑to‑day operations of all project phases with oversight.
  • Perform assignments as required and directed.
  • Assist Job Captain and Project Manager with coordination of architectural design with external consultant.
  • Manage design hours on projects per established budget.
  • Responsible for the accurate completion of construction document production and coordination.
  • Responsible for code review on his/her projects with Job Captain or Project Manager.
  • Responsible for deadlines on their projects.
  • Reach out to vendors for receiving sample materials.
  • Conduct thorough investigation of as‑built conditions, verification of field conditions, and ADA assessments.
  • Translate all findings into CAD or Revit files.
  • Able to multi‑task, balance project tasks, manage interruptions and keep project work flowing.
  • Dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge and personal/professional growth.
  • Responsible for keeping Library organized.
  • Create new project folders, manage the files, and properly archive project files.
