Student Success Coach & Mentor – City Year Ameri Corps Member
📍 East Palo Alto, CA & San José, CA – Full-Time (Summer/Fall 2026 start)

Are you passionate about education, mentoring young people, and making a real impact in schools? City Year is looking for dedicated individuals to join our Ameri Corps team as Student Success Coaches & Mentors – helping students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
About the RoleAs a City Year Ameri Corps member, you will serve as an Academic Tutor, Mentor, and Student Success Coach supporting students in elementary, middle, and/or high schools. In this role, you'll work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and your Ameri Corps team to:
- Provide one-on-one and small group academic support, especially in literacy and math.
- Help students improve attendance, behavior, and social‑emotional skills.
- Plan and monitor individual student progress — recording and analyzing data to inform support strategies.
- Support extended‑day activities, enrichment programming, and school events that celebrate student growth.
Training is provided, and you’ll grow professionally while making a difference in students’ lives.
Qualifications- Are 17-25 years old by July 1, 2026
- Are U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents (DACA currently not eligible)
- Have a high school diploma or GED, some college experience, or a degree
- Are ready to commit to a full year of service (beginning July/August 2026)
- Are excited to support students, families, and schools through collaboration and service
