Job Description / Essential Elements- Develop and present lessons to students; evaluate student progress; maintain proper classroom control and learning environment; assist in curriculum development.
- Develop and present lessons that demonstrate preparation consistent with the approved course of study.
- Develop and present lessons where performance objectives/competencies are understood by the student and are supportive of district goals.
- Evaluate student progress based primarily on achievement of performance objectives/competencies.
- Use a variety of instructional techniques and materials appropriate to the course and adult students.
- Maintain current and accurate records of student attendance and progress.
- Demonstrate and promote punctuality.
- Participate with fellow staff members in the development and implementation of curriculum and instruction.
- Keep up to date in subject area and continually work to improve instructional techniques.
- Adhere to approved course of study policies and procedures.
- Attend and participate in program and district meetings.
- Supervise the proper use of equipment and facilitate with the student’s safety in mind.
- Treats students with courtesy and respect.
- Demonstrate awareness of student’s social psychological, emotional and academic needs.
- Share ideas, techniques and materials as appropriate with other staff members.
- Demonstrate willingness to offer and receive suggestions.
- Cooperate in the use and care of all equipment and materials.
- Maintain current knowledge of available instructional materials.
- Keep informed of social, political and economic development in the school district community.
- Demonstrate an awareness of the socioeconomic and ethnic makeup of the community.
- Have knowledge of the functions of the various community agencies including referral services.
- Actively participate in school/community related organizations.
- Promote community responsibility among students.
- Help inform the community of the services and educational opportunities available through adult education.
- Under general supervision of director or designate.
- Appropriate California teaching credential.
A teaching credential issued by the state of California authorizing the teaching of the subject is requested. Please upload the required documents to your online application.
