Elementary School Counselor (K-5)
Assist in developing, implementing, and evaluating all services of counseling that promote academic achievement and the well-being of students.
Areas of Responsibility- Provide one-on-one counseling to all students
- Assist parents and staff with community agencies referrals
- Participate in curriculum and other developmental programs within the school and district
- Maintain cumulative record folders as required
- Participate in the Child Study Team/Individualized Education Program
- Work with parents, teachers, staff, and administration to improve student attendance
- Participate in all staff meetings
- Other responsibilities assigned by the principal
A valid Pupil Personnel Services Credential, be enrolled in a counselor internship program in an accredited college or university, ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others, three years of teaching experience (desired), bilingual skills in Spanish (desired).

Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with the certificated staff evaluation process Board Approved: 8/9/01

Minimum qualifications:
Appropriate valid California Pupil Personnel Services Credential, School Counseling Master's Degree in Educational Counseling, School Counseling Experience. Required documents (current employees only):
