Career Systems Development Corporation seeks a part-time Recreation Specialist / Student Government Advisor to engage Job Corps students through structured activities and leadership development. In this role, you will plan and supervise recreational, social, and wellness programs while advising student government, supporting elections, meetings, and campus initiatives. You'll collaborate with education, counseling, and residential teams to build a positive, student-centered culture that promotes responsibility, respect, and inclusion, helping young adults develop skills, confidence, and readiness for career and independent living success.
Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise recreational, social, and wellness activities for students
- Advise and mentor student government leaders, supporting elections, meetings, and initiatives
- Promote student engagement, leadership development, and positive campus culture
- Ensure activities align with Job Corps program requirements, safety standards, and policies
- Collaborate with educational, counseling, and residential staff to support student success
- Monitor student participation, behavior, and progress, documenting as required
- Facilitate workshops on leadership, teamwork, and life skills
- Support evening and weekend events as needed
- Contribute to a respectful, inclusive, and student-centered environment
- Assist with reporting, attendance records, and program evaluation
