POSITION SUMMARYThis faculty position is a full-time, 100% FTE Temporary, One Year, Categorical, Non-tenured (11 Months, August – June) as Counselor, EOPS / CARE in the Division of Counseling and Matriculation located at San Jose City College. Under the direction and supervision of the Dean of Student Services or area administrator, the EOPS / CARE Counselor provides academic, career, personal, and crisis counseling;
assists with course placement; develops educational plans; guides students through general education, and transfer coursework; implements an academic progress report, caseload management, and follow-up process; facilitates support for the EOPS / CARE students’ success. Assignment may include day and evening responsibilities. Some workdays may be assigned outside the eleven-month academic calendar. This position is represented by the San Jose/Evergreen Federation of Teachers, AFT 6157.
