About the Position

San Jose State University's Lucas College and Graduate School of Business is accepting applications for part‑time faculty appointments to teach undergraduate courses on campus or online. Positions are scheduled to begin at the start of a semester and may be renewed based on department need, funding, and performance.

• Teach one or more undergraduate or graduate courses as assigned, delivering content in the scheduled mode (asynchronous, synchronous, bi‑chronous, in‑person, or hybrid).
• Prepare, administer, and grade examinations, assignments, and other assessments.
• Hold weekly office hours and provide academic advising to students.
• Use the Canvas Learning Management System to organize course materials, assessments, and communication.
• Contribute to faculty meetings and provide input on curriculum decisions.
• Complete required CSU employee training, including modules on preventing discrimination and harassment, gender equity, Title IX, and health and safety.

• Master’s degree or higher in a field relevant to the courses to be taught.
• At least three years of professional experience in the subject area.
• Demonstrated ability to engage a diverse student population and incorporate inclusive teaching strategies.

• College‑level teaching experience.

Salary is determined by qualifications and experience. Monthly rates for full‑time faculty (annual salary = rate × 12) are: L‑A / Range 2 – $5,507 – $5,959; L‑B / Range 3 – $6,221 – $7,481; L‑C / Range 4 – $6,825 – $9,431; L‑D / Range 5 – $8,593 – $10,347. Part‑time rates are prorated.
