The Department of Design in the College of the Humanities and Arts has openings for part-time, temporary instructors in Animation & Illustration, Graphic Design, Interior Design, Industrial Design, Interaction Design, and Experience Design.

• Teach undergraduate courses, engaging and inspiring students while ensuring learning standards are met or exceeded. Duties include holding regular weekly office hours, creating and evaluating student exams and assignments, and assigning grades.
• Demonstrate awareness of and address the needs of a diverse student population through inclusive course materials, teaching strategies, and advisement.
• Organize all classes within the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS).
• Ensure all classes are offered and meet as scheduled throughout the semester or term, in the mode assigned (asynchronous, synchronous, bichronous, in‑person, or hybrid).

• Master’s degree or at least five years of professional experience.
• Demonstrated awareness of and sensitivity to the educational goals of a multicultural population, gained through cross‑cultural study, training, teaching, or comparable experience.

Compensation and salary range placement are determined by qualifications and experience. The following are anticipated starting salaries (full‑time associate‑faculty, prorated for part‑time). Monthly salary rates are based on the yearly annual salary schedule.

• L‑A / Range 2 - $5,507 – $5,959
• L‑B / Range 3 - $6,221 – $7,481
• L‑C / Range 4 - $6,825 – $9,431
• L‑D / Range 5 - $8,593 – $10,347
