Department Summary

UNVS 15 is a statistics course aimed at students who need extra support. It is based on the Statway College + Corequisite course that is part of the Carnegie Math Pathways curriculum offered through West Ed. Training in the Statway methodology is required to teach the course.

Brief Description of Duties

We invite applications for part‑time lecturers to teach UNVS 15, Statway:
Statistics-Concepts & Methods. The number of positions varies by semester, depending on program needs. Candidates will use high‑impact pedagogical approaches and strong statistics background, with excellent teaching, oral and written communication skills. Lecturers must demonstrate awareness and experience with a culturally diverse student population, using inclusive course materials and strategies.

Required Qualifications

An MS or MA in mathematics, applied mathematics or statistics.
Experience teaching college math courses.
Evidence of good oral and written communication skills.
Commitment to student learning and team performance.
Awareness of and sensitivity to multicultural educational goals, gained through cross‑cultural study, training, teaching or comparable experience.

Preferred Qualifications

PhD in mathematics, applied mathematics or statistics.

Compensation

Compensation and salary range placement are determined by qualifications and experience. Anticipated starting salary: L‑A Range 2 – $5,507–$5,959 per month; L‑B Range 3 – $6,221–$7,481; L‑C Range 4 – $6,825–$9,431; L‑D Range 5 – $8,593–$10,347 per month. Part‑time rates are prorated. Monthly payments are made six times per semester.
