The Department of Art and Art History, established in 1911, offers BA, BFA, MA, and MFA degrees and is accredited by NASAD. Faculty work in a dynamic department encouraging cross‑disciplinary practice between art history, art practice, and art education.
Responsibilities- Teach undergraduate courses in Renaissance, Baroque, or Asian Art History.
- Teach lower‑division general survey courses such as Introduction to Design History (ARTH 72) and/or Introduction to Visual Culture (ARTH 15).
- Demonstrate awareness of and address the needs of a diverse student population through inclusive course materials, teaching strategies, and advisement.
- Organize class content within the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS).
- Ensure all classes are offered and meet as scheduled throughout the term in the mode assigned (asynchronous, synchronous, bichronous, in‑person, or hybrid).
- Ph.D. in Art History or related area, and university‑level teaching experience.
- Strong writing skills and ability to direct and assess student writing.
- Evidence of scholarly engagement through presentations and publications.
- Ability to evaluate adult learners and demonstrate satisfactory achievement in previous academic work.
Compensation and salary range placement are determined by qualifications and experience.
- Anticipated starting salary (monthly):
- L‑A / Range 2: $5,507 – $5,959
- L‑B / Range 3: $6,221 – $7,481
- L‑C / Range 4: $6,825 – $9,431
- L‑D / Range 5: $8,593 – $10,347
Part‑time rates are prorated. Full‑time annual salary is calculated as monthly rate × 12.
