Job Summary The East Side Union High School District (ESUHSD) seeks a skilled and passionate instrumental music coach to support in class instruction during the regular school day. Throughout the school year, the coach will work alongside the credentialed teacher at District High School, supporting beginning, intermediate, and advanced instrumental music students. This role includes rehearsal preparation, instruction, and performance support at one or more school sites, contributing to high-quality music education for a diverse student body.

Requirements / Qualifications

• Experience in instrumental pedagogy as well as rehearsal planning and implementation
• Experience teaching high school-aged students
• Experience teaching in both small and large group settings and one on one instruction

Comments and Other Information Key Tasks/Duties:

• Collaborate with the school's Instrumental teachers so as to align with overall goals of the course
• Provide large and small group instruction, and possibly one on one instruction designed to enhance students technical proficiency
• Provide large and small group instruction, and possibly one on one instruction designed to enhance students musical expression
• Foster student creativity, discipline, and teamwork in a culturally responsive and inclusive environment Other Duties/Responsibilities:
• Person serving in this capacity would be assigned to Instrumental Ensembles as an assistant to the Director
• May need to teach at multiple sites to meet requirement of base assignment
