Archer is an aerospace company based in San Jose, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft to advance sustainable air mobility. We are designing, manufacturing, and operating an all-electric aircraft that can carry four passengers while producing minimal noise.

Responsibilities- Collaborate with various engineering disciplines to design high-reliability, safety-critical systems for an electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft
- Zonal management of the digital mock-up for a large section of the aircraft
- Control space allocation for all subsystems
- Manage routing envelopes for all subsystems
- Ensure all subsystems are accessible and maintainable
- Manage interface requirements models (IRMs) for their zone
- Manage the top aircraft assembly part number and BOM structure
- Hold regular design fly-through meetings resolving conflicts and maturing the design through CDR
- Manage master geometry models for the respective zone
- Ensure all system separation requirements are upheld
- Work closely with manufacturing engineering to ensure the aircraft zone is designed for manufacturing
- 10+ years of systems or structural design engineering experience
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Excellent project management skills
- Experience working on type certification of an aircraft from start to finish under 14 CFR Part 23/25/27/29 or equivalent regulations
- Expert in CAD design and BOM management
- 2+ years leading teams
- Prior experience with EWIS or Environmental control systems
For this position we are targeting a base pay between $225,000 – $280,000. Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
