What You’ll Do- Formulate, Lead, and Execute cell, module, and battery pack abuse testing to include Thermal Runaway, Short Circuit, Over-Temperature, Overcharge, and Over discharge
- Perform data analysis and create reports
- Design sub-scale and full scale test rigs for Safety/Abuse tests requiring pcba/hardware and software development
- Design and deploy custom thermal abuse test equipment and controllers
- Design bespoke test equipment and test automation software to support cross functional battery R&D testing
- Mechanical design of test rigs in NX CAD software
- Development of LabVIEW, Python, and other test development tools
- Support small scale buck and prototype builds
- Support troubleshooting and preventative maintenance of battery test equipment and setups
- Perform cell, buck, and pack teardown with the battery engineering team
- Develop novel test procedures and execute testing
- Create reports for submission to the FAA.
- BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field
- 8+ years of experience in cell and battery abuse testing within an engineering or manufacturing industry
- High Voltage experience
- Hands‑on experience with cell test/data monitoring, battery module and/or pack test/data monitoring
- Design experience of fixtures, test setups, and procuring parts
- Experience with PCAN Explorer or CANalyzer applications and the HW used with the applications
- Hands‑on experience preparing samples for test
- Experience successfully writing SOPs and Test Plans
- Problem‑solving skills
- Experience with a wide variety of DAQ systems
- Experience with MATLAB and Python
- Ability to travel to test facilities
- Experience with Battery Manufacturing
- Expert in Lab View development applications
- Experience with high voltage systems: cars, aircraft, etc.
- Experience with DO-160G, DO-311A, UN 38.3, SAEJ
2464 - Experience with data analysis
- Experience with Thermal Runaway setup and testing
- Experience with AVL, Arbin, Neware, Chroma, and/or other Test Cycler Systems or Bi-Directional Power Supplies

We drive a pay-for-performance culture and reward performance that supports the Company’s strategy. For this position, we are targeting a base pay range of $134,000 - $174,000. Actual compensation offered will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
