Responsibilities

Responsible for media management algorithm design for Data Center SSD; drive level characterization for media management features; data analysis infrastructure development; system feature config point of contact on behavior of MAG, interfacing FW, SSD PE, NAND PE to ensure each vintage of NAND is properly handled; owner of mConfig, REM latching, Trim overflow handling, sequential read NAND command optimization, partial block handling, tempco by PEC, vRLC, write temperature recording in system;

point of contact for Joint Server Farm (JSF) and handle drive behavior data analysis & FA.

Education & Experience

Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field is accepted.

Position requires education or experience in the following:

Signal processing, including analog, digital and statistical signal processing, modeling samples with probability distribution under probability and stochastic process, and error control coding;

Utilizing key features and specifications of data center SSD to achieve such specifications;

System design, including flash storage system basics, general product (USB/SD/SSD) and functional operation of each of those components;

NAND knowledge, including non-volatile memory categories, fundamental differences, operation of non-volatile memory cell, and NAND flash memory architecture;

Chip design, including analog and digital integrated circuit knowledge; CMOS transistor operation and fundamental RLC circuit behavior and analysis skill.
