Job Title: Mechanical Engineer, Robotics, San Jose
Position Type: Full-time

Responsibilities- Design complex mechanical components and assemblies using 3D CAD software
- Develop, test, and validate prototypes to verify design concepts and functionality
- Create detailed engineering drawings
- Perform engineering analysis (FEA, MATLAB) to optimize designs for strength, weight, and durability
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (electrical, software, systems) to integrate mechanical components
- Work with manufacturing partners to ensure designs are manufacturable and meet quality standards
- Build and test mechanical assemblies, fixtures, and test equipment
- Document designs, test procedures, and design processes thoroughly
- Bachelor's or Master s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, or related field
- 3+ years of industrial experience in mechanical design and development for complex mechanical systems
- Expert proficiency with 3D CAD software (Solid Works, OnShape, UG, or similar)
- Strong understanding of mechanical fundamentals including kinematics, dynamics, and structural analysis
- Experience with actuators, sensing, transmission systems (strain-wave, planetary, cycloidal gearing, etc.)
- Familiarity with electromechanical integration (motors, sensors, wire routing, etc.)
- Hands-on prototyping and testing skills
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Experience with robotics systems, particularly humanoid or mobile platforms
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and DFM/DFA principles
- Experience with rapid prototyping techniques (3D printing, CNC machining)
- Familiarity with high-volume manufacturing processes
- Experience working with contract manufacturers
