Systems Engineer; Storage & Backup

Responsibilities

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Systems Engineer (Storage & Backup) in San Jose, CA.

Summary:

The role of a Senior Storage & Backup Systems Engineer is to design, implement, manage and maintain storage solutions. You will be providing Level 3 support to Storage and Backup environment. You will provide administration and engineering support on multiple OS platforms in a multi-vendor environment, while working closely with architecture, application development, database, server and networking teams. In addition, you will continuously participate in developing, defining and simplifying processes to improve services.

For new initiatives or critical upgrades, you will work closely with Business/Application Development & Engineering teams during project analysis and design phases and with the Operations team during the implementation and post go-live support.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or relevant subject
• Production support experience in Storage & Backup Administration
• Solid understanding of large-scale Storage Area Network & Systems (Net App, EMC, HPE, IBM, Cisco, Rubrik & Brocade)
• Net App Grid
• Knowledge of technologies such as operating systems (AIX, Linux, Windows, VMware)
• Actively working in production environment

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
