About the Company:
SK Hynix Memory Solution is a global leader in DRAM and NAND flash technologies, driving advances in mobile, cloud, and future computing through innovative memory solutions. They invest in AI, ML, and sustainable practices to shape the next generation of memory technology.
About the Team:
SK Hynix Memory Solutions America Inc. (SKHMS America) develops controller hardware, flash management, and firmware for NAND and post-2D-NAND storage solutions across Enterprise, Client, and Mobile markets.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a senior signal integrity engineer to develop next‑generation SSD products, focusing on hardware design and signal & power integrity for high‑speed interfaces such as PCIe Gen4‑6, DDR4/5, ONFI NAND. The role requires in-depth knowledge of simulation tools, schematic capture, and lab equipment for measurement correlation. The candidate must also mentor colleagues and support PCB and package design activities.
Responsibilities:
- Mentor engineers and provide SI/PI expertise for SSD controller package and PCB design.
- Participate in SSD product design: provide guidelines, review designs, validate and report.
- Support PCB back‑end process: define stack‑up, HDI via technology, part placement, routing constraints.
- Coordinate with cross‑functional teams to ensure design meets system requirements through lab verification/validation.
- Collaborate closely with SoC, firmware, package, and circuit design engineers.
- Document and communicate with design, product, and executive teams.
- Debug and root‑cause analysis throughout product development and customer escalations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- 10+ years of relevant experience in signal integrity and power integrity for high‑speed SSD boards.
- Experience with pre‑ and post‑layout simulation and design layout guide generation for PCIe Gen4/5/6, DDR4/5, LPDDR4/4x, NVIO, and PDN.
- Strong fundamentals in EM/EM simulation tools and transmission line theory.
- Hands‑on experience with EM field solvers (Sigrity, Allegro, ADS, HFSS, SIWAVE, HSPICE).
- Simulation and measurement correlation using oscilloscope, VNA, and TDR.
- Excellent understanding of PCB design fundamentals: single‑ended and differential signaling, near‑end/far‑end crosstalk, signal loss, impedance control.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Technical leadership experience.
- Familiarity with PCIe eye‑diagram analysis at Gen x speeds (NRZ, PAM3, PAM4).
- Experience with high‑frequency PCB low‑loss materials.
- Flex circuit design for high‑speed signaling.
- Understanding of PCIe and DRAM operation for driver/receiver equalization.
- Knowledge of IBIS, ability to extract S‑parameters and verify PRD requirements.
- PDN optimization and PSIJ analysis extraction.
- Familiarity with PCISIG, JEDEC, and ONFI specifications and compliance.
Compensation: $110,000 – $175,000 per year, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) match, cafeteria, onsite gym, and more. Salary will be tailored to location, experience, and internal equity.
