Job Overview
We are seeking an Epitaxy Process Engineer to join our dynamic team, performing the following duties in a 24×7 manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities- Serve as process engineer for epitaxy and metrology related activities, supporting manufacturing and R&D for continuous product improvement and NPI development.
- Assume ownership of MOCVD epitaxy and thin film deposition processes on dedicated reactors, supporting 24×7 manufacturing and development of new-generation optoelectronic devices.
- Develop, optimize, and sustain advanced characterization and measurement processes, including metrology tool governance and calibration.
- Deliver on production matrices (line yield, tool throughput, CIP) and participate in reactor component design improvement.
- Maintain and improve legacy wafer fab products and develop new products in close interface with manufacturing production, product engineers, equipment engineers, process engineers, and chip design engineers.
- Generate data, prepare reports, and present findings to drive manufacturing continuity, troubleshoot issues, update procedures, write process flow documentation, and support MES.
- Support 24×7 fab manufacturing, including off‑hour on‑call support as required.
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
- Experience with CVD/thin film processes, particularly MOCVD, and process ownership.
- Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and reporting of yield.
- Technical experience with III‑V semiconductor wafer and device characterization (photoluminescence, XRD, ECV, defect scanning, reflectometry, ellipsometry).
- Experience collaborating with equipment and product engineering to mitigate process impacts on device performance and yield.
- Familiarity with manufacturing execution software for process sequencing and quality assurance.
- Strong analytical skills with ability to write clear technical reports and deliver concise presentations.
- Self‑starter, strong team player, excellent communication skills, adaptable to rapid priority changes.
- Valid for 100% on‑site work in San Jose, CA; willing to work 24×7 on‑call support.

CompensationPay Range: $85,000 - $121,400 annual base.
