ResponsibilitiesTo support the fast growth and manage the massive content on the platform, Byte Dance's infrastructure team is building Global Energy Expertise on hyper‑scale data centers around the world that host hundreds of thousands of servers. We are looking for a passionate and structured project manager to support key power and energy functions, including power availability analysis and power reliability due diligence for site expansion.
You will work closely with Strategy, Data Center Engineering, Operations, Capacity Planning and Global Supply Chain teams to manage complex construction and service projects in the Americas and EMEA regions. The ideal candidate should be comfortable with managing complex projects and building constructive partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead utility and power due diligence for existing and future data center portfolios in support of site acquisition and operation.
- Manage data center energy supply, and identify markets with power availability that meet short‑term and long‑term demands.
- Support lifecycle power management process from power reservation application, interconnection permitting, energization to reliability monitoring in greenfield, brownfield and/or power shell data center models.
- Conduct energy cost analysis and drive initiatives to optimize the budget structure.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Policy, Law, Economics, Business, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years+ Experience in real estate/tech infrastructure development, evaluation, and acquisition with a focus on power and utility.
- 3 years+ Experience managing utility agreements and energy‑oriented projects.
- Experience in the Americas or EMEA energy market, familiar with grid reliability, interconnection, and large electric load management.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in a related field.
- Working knowledge of data centers or large power infrastructure, including technical and commercial solutions.
- Experience in power shell, greenfield/brownfield development of data centers or similar projects with large electrical loads.
- Willing to travel domestically and abroad as needed.
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $115200 - $288000 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
