We are the High‑End Routing hardware team that develops the groundbreaking routers deployed in Service Providers and Data Centers worldwide. We use powerful technologies to design innovative routers that support the Internet for the future.
Your ImpactYou will design hardware for the Cisco 8000 series routers, delivering the best quality and power efficiency using advanced Ser Des technology. Your responsibilities span hardware definition, design, qualification, and product release.
- Drive hardware product life‑cycle development including architecture, detailed design, bring‑up, debug, hardware qualification, release to manufacturing, sustaining support, and field failure support.
- Use Cadence/Allegro to develop and collect schematics.
- Guide layout and routing phases of the design.
- Write hardware specs, create test plans, and bring up hardware with ASIC teams.
- Debug lab issues using analyzers and scopes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with 8+ years of experience, or Master’s degree with 6+ years, or PhD with 3+ years of system‑level development.
- Professional experience with high‑speed design for Ethernet or PCIe.
- Experience collaborating with manufacturing, software, mechanical, or signal‑integrity teams.
- Expertise in board design using industry‑standard tools such as Concept, Allegro, or equivalents.
- Experience in lab bring‑up and hardware design validation.
- Writing hardware functional specifications.
- Experience with high‑speed network interfaces (10G/25G/100G).
- Experience with control interfaces such as PCIe, MDIO, SPI, I2C.
- Experience designing systems with DDR4/DDR5 DIMMs.
- Experience tackling signal‑integrity issues and board‑mounted power design and distribution.
- Experience with programmable devices such as FPGAs, CPLDs.
- Prior experience shipping products.
