Job Summary
This is a senior level position in power module design. Responsibilities include defining high‑current‑density 48V/12V/5V DC/DC power module products for applications such as networking, optical, and industrial systems.
Responsibilities- Work with design engineers, field applications team, and TME to define new power module and IC products in DC/DC power solutions for the industrial market.
- Develop application reference circuits and system‑level power management solutions for industrial applications.
- Conduct hands‑on lab bench evaluations, system and board‑level debugging, and prototype demonstrations.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support existing products and drive new product development.
- Communicate with customers on new product definitions and provide technical support.
- Write datasheets, application notes, design notes, and papers for magazines and conferences to promote MPS products.
- Education:
MSEE or higher required. - 3+ years of hands‑on experience in switch‑mode power supply design, especially in power module products.
- Familiarity with lab tools such as oscilloscope, DMM, power supplies, e‑loads, frequency analyzer, etc.
- Experience with high‑power‑density / high‑current power converters, magnetics design (inductor & planar transformers), new topologies for isolated/non‑isolated/regulated/non‑regulated converters, and high‑frequency power converters with state‑of‑the‑art power FETs.
- Proven problem‑solving and hands‑on debug capabilities.
- Experience with simulation tools such as Simplis, Maxwell, Icepak preferred.
- Experience in PCB design/layout and EMI performance optimizations.
- Experience with firmware development for power converters.
- Fluent communication, writing, and presentation skills in English.
- Self‑motivated to drive projects with excellent execution capabilities.

Base salary range for California: $130,000 – $170,000.
