What You’ll Do- Own mechanical design components of the energy and power dense ESS for future battery pack design powering Archer’s FAA type certified eVTOL air taxi.
- Develop designs meeting the required mechanical, electrical, and thermal specifications unique to a lithium‑ion battery system.
- Utilize lightweight materials and clever packaging solutions to reduce weight.
- Perform hand calculations of designs followed by optimization in FEA software packages.
- Work with the test and integration teams to ensure performance requirements are met at both the bench and aircraft levels.
- Support with sustaining efforts on current battery design.
- Conduct basic testing and validation of battery systems and components.
- Design and build prototypes to prove out design concepts.
- Conduct failure analysis and troubleshooting of battery systems related to your components.
- Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering. - Minimum Experience:
2 years of experience in mechanical design, HV systems and design practices, CAD/tolerance stack/GD&T, and developing parts with various manufacturing processes in aerospace, energy, or automotive companies.
We are offering $184,500 to $193,725 per year.
