Summary
Commissioning Agent – The P2S commissioning team is a rapidly growing group focused on delivering high‑performance building systems across the built environment. We are seeking a competent professional with strong technical expertise and a hands‑on approach to evaluating and optimizing building system performance.
Position Details- Experience: 5+ years

Schedule:
3 days in‑office / 2 remote - Salary Range: $110,000 - $140,000 (dependent on experience)
- Location: San Jose, CA
- Perform design reviews of drawings, specifications, and submittals to ensure alignment with Owner Project Requirements (OPR) and Basis of Design (BOD).
- Develop commissioning plans, pre‑functional checklists, and functional performance test procedures.
- Identify, document, and track issues throughout all project phases and support resolution.
- Execute and oversee functional performance testing of building systems.
- Lead commissioning coordination meetings with Owners, Engineers, General Contractors, Sub‑Contractors, and Facilities Personnel.
- Prepare clear, organized reports summarizing project progress, test results, and system performance.
- Support owner training and documentation of systems and operations.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- CxA (ACG) or CCP (BCA) or BCxP (ASHRAE).
- Project management experience.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to travel up to 30%.
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical design for commercial buildings.
- Working knowledge of HVAC (airside and water side), Central Utility Plants, Plumbing/Piping, Electrical systems (power and lighting), Fire protection, Controls and instrumentation.
- Commissioning and retro‑commissioning experience.
- Building envelope commissioning experience.
- Experience working within a consulting engineering environment.
- Strong client‑facing experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Highly organized and detail‑oriented.
- Self‑motivated with a proactive approach.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Familiarity with testing equipment, data loggers, and commissioning tools.
