What you’ll do

As a member of our Quality Team, you will perform various inspections to ensure the quality of the aircraft while playing a critical leadership role in workplace safety. You will serve as the organization's designated Radiation Safety Officer (RSO), owning and maintaining our radiation safety program to ensure strict compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Through stringent testing and rigorous safety management, you will help us achieve airline‑like levels of safety while offering urban air transportation at a price accessible to all, setting the bar for the entire advanced air mobility industry.

Responsibilities

Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) Duties:

  • Serve as the primary Radiation Safety Officer for the organization, acting as the main point of contact for regulatory agencies (e.g., California Department of Public Health, Nuclear Regulatory Commission). If not currently an RSO, must be able to achieve certification within 6 months.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the corporate Radiation Safety Program, ensuring compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding industrial radiation‑producing equipment.
  • Manage equipment registrations, licensing, dosimetry programs, radiation monitoring, and site surveys.
  • Develop, implement, and conduct ongoing radiation safety training for all applicable personnel.
  • Maintain all required safety logs and records, conduct regular internal audits, and lead emergency response and investigation for any radiation safety incidents.

NDT Level II Duties:

  • Configure, calibrate, and maintain nondestructive testing (NDT) equipment to ensure accurate inspections.
  • Perform NDT inspections to assess product quality and detect defects using various methodologies.
  • Develop and implement testing techniques tailored to the objects under inspection.
  • Assist in the development of and apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications and evaluate results effectively.
  • Compile detailed test reports and distribute findings to relevant stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework preferred.
  • Must possess documented formal training and certification as a Radiation Safety Officer (e.g., completion of a formal 40‑hour RSO training course) or have the capability to obtain certification within 6 months.
  • Current or previously certified to NAS
    410 non‑film radiographic testing.
    • Minimum 80 hours formal classroom training in the Radiographic Testing method.
    • Documentation of 800 hours on‑the‑job training approved by a certified Level II or Level III in the method and technique.
  • Computed Tomography in aviation/aerospace experience required (non‑medical).
  • Demonstrated proficiency in performing NDT tasks and interpreting inspection results.
  • Strong ability to write detailed NDT inspection reports.
  • Work experience in manufacturing environments within aerospace or other highly regulated industries.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
Bonus Qualifications
  • Current or previous certification as Radiation Safety Officer.
  • Ability to achieve NDT Level II Certification in Ultrasonic Testing (UT).
  • Ability to achieve NDT Level II Certification in Eddy Current Testing (ET).
  • Ability to achieve NDT Level II Certification in Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI).
  • Experience using MES/SAP systems to complete inspection plans electronically.
  • Experience performing First Article Inspections (FAI) and familiarity with relevant tools.
  • Proficiency in working with Model‑Based Definition (MBD) or fully dimensional models.
  • Experience with the utilization of Teamcenter.

For this position, we are targeting a base pay range of $108,400 - $149,100. Actual compensation offered will be determined by job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience.
