Location: North San Jose, CA

Duration: Multiyear Project

Role Overview: Support manufacturing operations by driving continuous improvement initiatives, performing detailed capacity and cycle‑time analysis, and supporting Lean certification programs. This role works directly on the production floor with highly complex electromechanical operations.

Cycle Time & Capacity Analysis
  • Conduct detailed cycle‑time studies
  • Break down a full technician cycle to identify bottlenecks/inefficiencies
  • Develop capacity models and operational breakdowns
  • Perform line balancing to optimize throughput and workflow
Continuous Improvement & Lean Support
  • Lead and participate in Gemba/GAMA walks
  • Facilitate Value Stream Mapping (VSM) sessions
  • Implement cycle‑time and capacity improvements
Integration with Operations
  • Work closely with technical teams assembling complex electromechanical equipment
  • Ensure improvements are practical, grounded in operations, and sustainable
Targeting:
  • Experience in Continuous Improvement, Industrial Engineering, or similar.
  • Strong hands‑on experience with:
    • Capacity analysis
    • Cycle‑time studies
    • Lean manufacturing fundamentals
  • Ability to analyze long, complex operations and decompose them into measurable tasks.
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, charts, time studies, capacity modeling).
  • Excellent communication and comfort speaking with managers, technicians, and floor leaders.
  • Experience supporting or analyzing complex electromechanical equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Lean Six Sigma Yellow/Green Belt.
  • Exposure to automation systems or ability to identify potential engineering/automation opportunities.
