Senior Engineer, GPU Modeling Architect

At the Samsung Austin Research and Development Center (SARC) and Advanced Computing Lab (ACL) we are building a center of excellence for intellectual property applied to high‑performance computing devices (mobile, automotive, and other custom market segments) consumed by millions worldwide.
Role OverviewAs a mid‑to‑senior individual contributor, you will design and develop high‑performance functional models that shape next‑generation Samsung GPUs. You will:
- 2+ years of experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or a related technical field, or a Master’s degree.
- Proficiency in software design and architecture.
- Hands‑on experience with C++ (STL) in a Linux environment.
- Strong understanding of GPU/CPU or computer architecture and micro‑architecture concepts.
- Experience with revision control systems, debuggers, and build tools such as make/CMake.
- Familiarity with hardware modeling and performance profiling and analysis.
- RTL verification experience is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to identify bottlenecks and propose data‑driven solutions.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity in a fast‑paced, global team environment.
The GPU Architect team delivers whole‑system architecture‑level design for Samsung’s current and next‑generation mobile GPUs. The team spans early‑stage architectural exploration and research in graphics and machine learning, shaping the GPU innovation roadmap, defining new features, building models, and delivering micro‑architecture design and programming.
Benefits and Compensation- Base pay range: $124,000 – $208,400, depending on education, skills, experience, and location.
