About the Role

We’re seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and execution of complex mechanical systems across large-scale commercial and mission-critical projects. This individual will play a key role in bridging engineering design with construction execution, working closely with project managers, BIM/VDC teams, and field operations to deliver high-quality, efficient systems.

This is a high-impact position ideal for someone who enjoys both technical design and real-world application within a fast-paced design-build environment.

Responsibilities

Engineering & Design Leadership

  • Lead the design of HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems for commercial, industrial, and mission-critical projects (data centers, healthcare, etc.)
  • Perform load calculations, equipment selection, and system sizing
  • Develop construction documents, specifications, and engineering reports
  • Ensure designs meet applicable codes, standards, and client requirements

Project Execution

  • Collaborate with project managers to align engineering deliverables with project schedules and budgets
  • Support design-build efforts, including value engineering and constructability reviews
  • Interface with clients, architects, GCs, and subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle
  • Provide engineering support during construction, commissioning, and project closeout
  • Work closely with BIM/VDC teams to develop coordinated 3D models (Revit/Navisworks)
  • Participate in coordination meetings and resolve clashes across disciplines
  • Mentor junior engineers and support team development

Quality & Innovation

  • Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes and standards
  • Identify opportunities for energy efficiency, sustainability, and system optimization
  • Stay current with emerging technologies in HVAC and mechanical systems
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field)
  • 7–12+ years of experience in mechanical engineering within MEP, design-build, or mechanical contracting environments
  • Strong experience with HVAC system design (airside and hydronic systems)
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and coordination tools like Navisworks
  • Experience working on large-scale commercial, healthcare, or mission-critical projects
  • Strong understanding of applicable codes (ASHRAE, IMC, etc.)
  • Excellent communication and project coordination skills

Preferred:

  • PE license (or ability to obtain)
  • Experience in design-build or contractor-led environments
  • Exposure to fabrication-level detailing or field coordination
What You’ll Get
  • Competitive base salary + performance-based bonus
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Opportunities for career growth into technical leadership or project management
  • Exposure to cutting-edge projects (data centers, advanced manufacturing, healthcare)
