Senior Mechanical Engineer

Full‑time Senior Mechanical Engineer – San Jose, CA

• Design mechanisms, enclosures, and highly‑cosmetic parts using 3D CAD software
• Collaborate with industrial designers, electrical engineers, and other stakeholders to develop world‑class products and user experiences
• Manage multiple concurrent projects and serve as a technical expert when meeting with clients
• Use shop tools to create rapid prototypes and debug systems
• Perform engineering analyses on parts and systems, including DFM, FEA, fatigue, FMEA, root cause analysis, and DOE creation
• Create and maintain engineering documentation (2D drawings, design notes, assembly methods, test specifications, regulatory documentation)

• BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent practical experience
• 7+ years of experience designing and launching successful hardware products
• Expertise with a wide variety of materials and manufacturing processes, from the commonplace to the extremely niche
• Strong proficiency in 3D modeling tools, including simulation and surface modeling (Solid Works)
• Proven ability to integrate electronic sensors, actuators, and motion control components to perform mechatronic tasks
• Experience with GD&T
• Comfortable working in a machine/wood/model shop environment
• Strong analytical skills and solid engineering fundamentals
• Collaboration skills, including experience working with UX and industrial design teams
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet fixed deadlines
• Medical device development experience
• Prior consulting experience
• Mechatronics/electronics experience
